When we started Tongo Wata a year ago, secure and safe water access in rural Sierra Leone was our top priority. Through community participation, team spirit, and your support, we are a step closer to that. We have been able to successfully execute water rehabilitation projects in Tongo Fields, Sierra Leone. This is no small feat: a community with over 44,000 people now has five more wells with safe water access!
As we continue our mission, we are training people in the community to guarantee continuous water treatment as well as the upkeep of the wells. Concretely, looking forward, we seek to scale up our projects to neighboring areas while further improving livelihoods in Tongo Fields. This time, through the promotion of food sovereignty.
